A restaurant system holds your sales, your guests' phone numbers and your staff's hours. Here is how we look after them, in plain words.
Your data lives on Amazon Web Services in Mumbai, on a database that runs in two data centres at once. Backups are encrypted and kept for 35 days.
Each restaurant's data is separated inside the database itself as well as by the app, so a bug in the app alone can't show one restaurant another's orders.
Guest phone numbers, emails and allergies are encrypted before they are stored. You can export a guest's data or delete it when they ask, and inactive guest data is removed after 36 months.
Every person signs in with their own PIN and role. Cashiers can't refund without a manager, an accountant can read reports but not change anything, and a manager tied to one outlet can't open another. PINs lock after repeated wrong tries.
Owners and managers can require a code from an authenticator app when signing in with a password or pairing a new tablet. A lost tablet can be revoked and wiped from Settings.
Card payments run through your own payment company's terminal or checkout. Okonomi stores only the reference, and the money settles straight to your bank.
Voids, refunds, discounts, permission changes and data exports are logged with who did them and when. The log can't be edited.
Bills made offline are stored on the tablet and sent in order when the connection returns. Each is recorded once, even if it's sent twice.
